SigmaPlot 5.05 Update

To install this patch, perform the following steps:

1. Download SigmaPlotW505_Update.exe. Remember where you save this file.
2. Next, choose Run from the Win95/98/NT Start Menu.
3. In the Run dialog box enter:
   SigmaPlotW505_Update.exe
   Be sure to include the appropriate drive and location.
   As an alternative method, you can double-click the file in the Explorer window. Several files get extracted.
4. Next, copy the following files to your SigmaPlot 5.0 directory: hoops32.dll, msw.hdi sp~dw__f.dll
   sp~gof5f.dll
   sp~ijxff.dll
   sp~obj5f.dll
   sp~pagwf.dll
   sp~sp5df.dll
   sp~tdl5f.dll
   
5. Copy the following files to the Transform folder: lowpass.xfm
   Xfms.jnb
   These files are installed in the C:\Program Files\spw5\Transform directory by default
6. Then, using WordPad, open SPW5.INI. SPW5.INI is located where you installed SigmaPlot, usually at C:\Program Files\spw5.
7. Make the following changes:
   In the "[pagew]" section, change:
   hmetares=80 to hmetares=300
   In the "[Open Filters]" section, change:
   Plain Text=SP~IASCF|SD~IASCF,*.ASC;*.TXT;*.PRN;*.DAT
   to Plain Text=SP~IASCF|SD~IASCF,*.ASC;*.TXT;*.PRN
   In the "[Import Filters]" section, change:
   Plain Text=SP~IASCF|SD~IASCF,*.ASC;*.TXT;*.PRN;*.DAT
   to Plain Text=SP~IASCF|SD~IASCF,*.ASC;*.TXT;*.PRN

The following bugs were fixed in SigmaPlot 5.0.5

• Pasting a text label greater than 255 characters into an Edit Text dialog box.
• Changing a graph legend with more than 255 characters to symbols causes a crash.
• With a Graph Title and Legend with more than 255 characters, opening the Graph Properties/Title and Legend tab crashes.
• Importing any .DAT axon file displays "Problem analyzing ASCII file".
• Opening a SigmaStat file containing a graph page generates countless error messages, which can be stopped by the End Task command.
• Further zooming improvement for 3D graphs. The 350% limit on zooming is now gone.
• Improved EPS file printing.
• Restore survival graph to xfms.jnb and correct column in lowpass.xfm
• Category axis label has the ninth letter altered.
• Changing range for time scales hangs SigmaPlot.
• Opening the title and legend tab of graph properties with a graph name longer than 255 characters crashes the program.
• Files saved with long column titles (more than 15 characters) crash when loading.
• Entering date and time information to a cell discards the time. Likewise when copying Excel cells, the time part gets discarded.
• Problems with the MSW printer driver that accompanies SigmaPlot 5.0 so that you can copy and paste large 3D graphs in Word or Excel at 300 dpi.
• Fixed a problem where zooming 3D graphs on the screen could crash SigmaPlot 5.0. If we zoom larger than 350%, the 3D graph doesn't display.

The patch can be installed in single-user or shared network environments. Each client installation must apply these changes.
